Services for adults

We offer a range of service to adults with disabilities including:

ELHAP Bridge Project

ELHAP Bridge can offer short term placements to “bridge the gap” for some of the children and young people left without school, college or day service provision due to Coronavirus.  It may be particularly suitable for children & young people who are not in education or training, whose school place may be at risk. For more information, please click here.

Transition Project

The ELHAP Transition Project is for disabled young people, who are moving on from children’s services.  The ELHAP Transition Project is a springboard, giving young people the opportunities and experiences to decide what they want to do with their lives. At the end of the Project, young people will be able to make informed decisions about their future including jobs, study, interests, hobbies and friendships.

This project is most suitable for those who need support with their transition from childhood to adulthood. Currently, the focus is on young people who do not receive other funding and who would most benefit from exploring work and college opportunities.

Orchard Project

The ELHAP Orchard Project is a completely unique and new project for young people and adults with learning disabilities. The Orchard Project has transformed from the ELHAP Day Service that ran for over 20 years. Rather than being based  on leisure and recreation, the new Orchard Project focuses on nature, horticulture, arts, skills development and adventure.

Based in our ancient Orchard nature reserve, service users access one of three groups:

  1. Young People who are transitioning into adulthood and who may not 'fit' into the more common day services or colleges. Young people can access  the service one or two days a week whilst in their final years of school to help the transition process.

  2. Adults who need or want to develop their work based skills, including supported volunteering with children, carpentry and horticulture./gardening.

  3. Adults with specialist needs who need day opportunities that focus on nature, arts and wildlife.
