ELHAP Wellbeing Playworker

Hours: 40 hours a week (including regular Saturdays)

Starting Salary: £22,500 per annum

Contract: Permanent

About the role

ELHAP is an inspiring and exciting adventure playground because of its history, its space and its location. For 43 years we have been pioneers of adventure play for children and young people with disabilities. The Wellbeing Playworker is a key role at ELHAP, developing innovative adventure play opportunities that focus directly on the physical and emotional wellbeing of our children and young people.  The role will operate in holiday playschemes, Saturday Clubs and term-time school visits.  In addition to this you will also be responsible for the development of the physical playground alongside our integrated team.

About you

To get the most out of the role you will be motivated and creative with experience and knowledge in facilitating innovative, adventurous projects and activities to engage disabled children and young people with diverse care and support needs. You’ll also be up for getting messy, muddy and willing to get involved in maintenance, building and decorating! Naturally, you’ll need direct experience in supporting disabled children and young people in a community or play setting. You’ll also be up to speed with equality and diversity, health and safety, and safeguarding children.

About us

ELHAP is one of only eight adventure playgrounds for disabled children and young people. For 43 years we have provided fantastic play experiences to many thousands of disabled children from across North East London and Essex. We are an independent charity in a unique and magical setting, unlike any other.
